Our Secret Santa Lives in Canada!

I am a part of a group on Facebook called Cats With Blogs. I am a VERY special poodle to be accepted into this group. Considering I talk about Molly Mew and Dae Dae so much and share many photos, the cat bloggers decided I was fit to be in their group.

Trust me, it isn't easy to be accepted and especially when you are a DOG.

I had to promise not to chase them and they had to promise not to claw or bite me. We came together in unison and I have been thrilled. I have learned so much about cats and how they think.

This has to make me the WORLD's SMARTEST POODALE.

Every year they have a gift exchange between them. Paula from Sweet Perfections, organizes it every year. Names are drawn and no one knows who their Santa Paws is until they get your package. This was the first time we have participated in this activity. I thought it would be fun to send gifts to a kitty or kitties that maybe I didn't know. Shopping for kitties is always fun. I think they have the best toys,treats, and food. Ma says I am not supposed to eat the food but if I don't get caught eating it, I stay out of trouble.

Our Secret Paws from Samantha and Mom

Sophie here! The Mama finally let us open our Secret Paws presents. We had been sniffing the box and wrapped presents for what seemed like ages. And when we finally got at ‘em, we weren’t disappointed.

We would like to say a very big thank you to our new kitty friend Samantha and her mom Chandra from Life from a Cat’s Perspective for picking out the awesome toys and treats!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday filled with lots of love (and catnip)!

Christmas with Keisha #Secret Paws

You read right. This little ghetto kitteh is thankful for three Sphynx cats from Canada. Over the past six months I've been following Merlin, Dragonheart and Devi and you should too. I've been participating in Secret Paws for the last four years and have gotten some wonderful prezzies. This year was no exception.

I could tell this package was put together with love. Everything was either made in Canada where they live or handmade except the treats. They really know how to make a cat feel special. There was a beautiful Christmas card and letter explaining what everything was. Their human mom is very talented. She crocheted a wash cloth and soap saver for TW (left in the above photo) and some toys and a super cool mat for me. We love the Christmasy yarn the toys and TW's gifts are made with. Some of the cat toys were bought locally by their home and they also included some Ludwig Spice Noel Canadian dark chocolate for TW and Pop which was quickly devoured. My peeps said it was delicious and thank you.

There aren't many pics of how nicely the prezzies were wrapped cos Pop tore into everything without rhyme or reason. This image of several of the packages is a video still. I am biting Pop because he wants to unwrap one of the packages.

Secret Paws 2016

The crocheted chain was a yuge hit with this kitteh as was the Greenies Smartbites! Here's a little slideshow with some of the pics and video TW took of me in action. We know how much they like scrapbooking so we picked a theme that we thought they'd like. I don't go for wand toys but strings are among my fave toys. TW hides them unless she's around to play with me which isn't often enough for my liking.

TW put the mat on the chair next to Pop's chair cos I love to keep Pop company while he reads the paper or checks out his Facebook page.

Kitties Blue Receive Secret Paws from Katzenworld

Once again we pawticipated in the Secret Paws gift exchange organized by Truffle and Brûlée and Mom Paula. We really appreciate all their hard work in setting this up each year.

Our gifts this year came all the way from the U.K. and the Katzenworld gang. The box was chock full of toys from their shop as well as a super cute “Oliver, Nubia & Snowball” mug for mom.

Most of the toys are filled with either catnip or valerian. We have not had valerian before so we will have a new experience playing with these toys. We let you know what we think in a future post.

Of course, not all of us showed up for the opening ceremony. But those who didn't (Giulietta, Astrid and Lisbeth) will get plenty of opportunity to try out and play with all the goodies.

Mauricio really enjoyed the gingerbread man with valerian. And he's already taken one of the big grey mousies upstair for some night-time play. Only the best toys get dragged from one floor to another!

Of course, Mom did not open all the toys for us. Even with seven Kitties Blue, it would be too much all at once. We know she'll be doling them out over the next few months.

Sorry our photos are sort of blurry. It's hard to sit still when kitty stimulants are involved!

All of us are sending great big kitty kisses and a huge T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U to Oliver, Nubia and their humans for the terrific gifts.

Our Secret Paws from The Island Cats

Hello and Happy Wednesday! This year was the first time we participated in Secret Paws, and it was so much fun! Our Secret Paws were Zoey, Ernie, and Wally of The Island Cats, and they sent us a bunch of presents! Just wait till you see what we got.

We FINALLY got to open our Secret Paws presents!   Our Secret Paw was Cathy Keisha from Stunning Keisha.   Boy did CK do a fabulous job picking out presents for us.  We got a cool laser light, fabulous catnip toys, treats, fev-ver toys, a super wand toy, treats, a cozy mat for naps....even something cute for Mom.

We put together a Smilebox slideshow of our pawsome presents.   We hope you enjoy it.

It's Time for Secret Paws 2016

Welcome to Secret Paws 2016!

When the kitties of the Cat Blogosphere, from all 'round the world, join paws for the

holidays to secretly exchange names and share the joy of gifting one another.

This has been a tradition for more years than any of us can remember,

and each year it seems to grow and grow.

Gift costs are always kept to a minimum, and we do our best to exchange

names "within country", so none have the added expense of overseas shipping.

We do ask that one and all respect deadlines so all kitties have their goodies

to open on Christmas Day!  

So ~ whether you have joined in past years ~ or if Secret Paws is new to you ~ just

let us know you want to be part of this event (deadline is 11/18/2016, letting us know

sooner is always better) ... and then you'll receive your very own

Secret Paw name from us, and well, Merry Meowy Holidays!

If you would like to participate in Secret Paws 2016, please email the following information to Truffle and Brulee at our email address (sweetpurrfections@sc.rr.com) by November 18, 2016.  Please put Secret Paws 2016 in the Subject Line.  It's easiest to copy and paste this information in your email to make sure you include everything.

5. Complete Mailing address :  It's important to include your human's first and last name because some post offices will not deliver to an address without this; especially if you live out of the United States.

7. Would you be willing to ship a package to a kitty from another country?  (Remember postage is higher and packages must be shipped earlier when shipping internationally)

Please send your information to Truffle and Brulee by November 18, 2016.  Mom Paula will help us sort everything out within a week and we will email everyone their partner by November 21, 2016.  Keep the Secret Paws "secret" this year until you receive yours and then post about your package on this blog and/or yours.  The Secret Paws package that you send to may not be the same kitty you receive from.  Please try to make sure everyone receives their Secret Paws package by December 15, 2016.  We strongly recommend you ship international packages by December 1, 2016.  We also strongly recommend that you use priority mail with a tracking number.  

We will also send everyone an invitation to contribute to this blog site so you can post pictures and thank yous once you receive yours.
